i'm visiting my alma mater this weekend. it's been a couple of years since i've graduated, but some of my closest friends from college are seniors this year, so i figured i should just go ahead and visit here one more time before all my friends from college graduate from college. it's been an interesting time! college was really the first time i've ever felt at home, since it was the first time i really had say over my own space and my own life. plus, i really still regard my time with the campus fellowship here as the most important experiences of my life. if it weren't for the community and support i felt from the Christian community here on campus, who knows what my walk with Christ would be right now. at any rate, being back here has been really surreal. i feel too much like an adult and i'm not sure how i feel about that. everything looks the same but the community and the people feel different enough that i don't belong here anymore. at the very least, i feel really out of place and out of touch with the college atmosphere. but it's been good to catch up with my friends here and at least draw on some of the post-college, seminary wisdom i've gathered in dispensing advice and discussing things about life. it's a good day when my not-so-great seminary experience can really help build someone else up. it makes the tough and trying experiences worth it, in some ways. overall, it's been really good to talk about life with people i've had life with.
in other news, it's been a few days since i said goodbye to Samuel and it's actually not been as bad as i thought it would be. i still miss him a lot, but the support of my friends have been very crucial! i have felt the prayers and good vibes from everyone and for that i am very grateful. with continued support and prayers, i know that july will feel like it's just around the corner soon enough. check back with me in a few weeks and i may be saying different things. or maybe i'll still be feeling the same. God only knows.
