procrastinating on goal #23 (participate in and complete NaNoWriMo)

so instead of writing my novel for NaNoWriMo, i am writing a blog about how i'm participating in the said event this year as one of my goals.  however, if i keep this up, this is going to end up being one of those goals that don't get completed.

i need to stop being a slacker, but for now, i'm sitting here in my room, with my new laptop, enjoying the feeling of new keyboard keys on my fingertips.  i'm both excited and terrified at getting started on my novel, but alas, the greatest journeys begin with a single step.  or in this case, the greatest novel begins with a single word.
