endings and beginnings...

life has become very different for me since i last made an appearance here nearly two months ago. it's funny how quickly time goes, how little changes and how a lot changes. there have been endings and beginnings.

i've said good-bye to the summer season, the humid weather and the swarms of tourists. one of my closest friends have said good-bye to her life as a single woman and have entered into married life. i love new beginnings, but do not necessarily love the changes that come along with them. she is now over a 2-hour drive away (SOOO FARR!!), instead of the 15-20 minute bus or metro ride while she was living in the same city. it's making me feel like i'm really growing up and my life is changing, again. but i know that things are going to be great and that distance will not keep good friends away from each other.

i've also got a new roommate! we haven't gotten a chance to spend too much time together - Washingtonians are busy people! - but she is awesome and i am so excited to have found a roommate with whom i get along well. i know that she and i will have lots of fun times in the future.

things have been great at work! we recently introduced a new person to our team, ending a three-month long period of having one less person in the office. it has been a little stressful with a person down, so being back to full staff has been a great blessings. transitions in the office have given me more responsibilities and along with that, some extra compensation. i'm really excited for the relief that a little bit more income will bring to my life, and i'm very grateful about the experience i will gain during my new role in the office, experience that will undoubtedly be great for my career.

hopefully, i will be more present here now that my life will be a little less busy. there are lots of thoughts that need to be written down! more to come...
